...LADIES RAISE FUNDS RUNNING STIRLING 10K...
As the senior mens teams were recovering after their games at the weekend, the ladies were resting up with an early and dry night (which might have been a culture shock to a couple of them!). However, it was all in aid of a good cause, as 5 brave members of the GRFC ladies section were saving themselves up for knocking their pans in, running in the annual City of Stirling 10K road race.
Just as the race was about to begin, the heavens opnened and the rain came a tumbling down. This did not stop our 118's though, and it is worth noting that all the girls completed the course averaging about the 1 hour mark with none of them stopping to walk any part of the course.
A brave effort indeed, while vital funds for the ladies section and their numerous long distance away trips in the league this year.

Should the efforts of out ladies have inspired you to dig out the runing shoes and give it a bit of Forrest Gump, then the club would love to draw you attention to the fact that there is another 10K race just round the corner.
The Strathcarron Hospice 10K road race is an annual event based in Denny where all monies raised goes directly to helpng support cancer patients in the residential hospice. As many of you are aware, a member of the club very recently lost his wife to cancer, with the Hospice playing a vital role of support and comfort in the last days. The club would like to show their support at such times by either sponsoring a runner, or by entering yourself to run. The time you achieve is not relevant- but more the support and funds that can be gained from the day.
