INTERESTED IN PLAYING RUGBY?

Grangemouth Stags is a vibrant and social rugby club based in the port of Grangemouth, in the central belt of Scotland. Formed in 1929, Grangemouth has had a roller coaster ride from the basement leagues in their formative years, to Premier Division II in 2003, holding their own as one of the top 20 clubs in Scotland.

These days the Senior Male team play in the Caledonia League, with fixtures the length and breadth of the country. In season 2009-10, the Stags will field a senior male 1st XV & 2nd XV, with a development 3rd XV when numbers allow. In addition, the club has a strong youth section with teams ranging from mini and midi (Primary school aged) through U16 and U18 (High School aged) and not forgetting the very active and social Ladies team! Grangemouth also has an affiliation with the 'Forth Valley Fossils'- an over 35's team drawing on players from around the county to play recreational rugby at a slightly slower pace!

As well as their league commitments, the Stags regularily compete in 7's tournaments in April/May time, with the highlight of these being the Orkney 7's in the 1st weekend of May. A guaranteed party and good time with the locals so ensure your pink ticket is valid! When the 6 Nations comes around, Grangemouth bi-annually travel to Wales to play Llandibie RFC on the outskirts of Cardiff, and to watch  Scotland play Wales in the Millenium Stadium. This relationship with Llandibie is the longest standing fixture between any Scottish and Welsh side still in existence, lasting for over 50 years and still going strong.

Although a commited rugby club who take their games and training seriously, the Stags ensure that the social side of rugby is not forgotten! With an annual mixed summer touch tournament, players' nights out, Hallowe'en parties, Christmas parties, Player-of-the-season Awards nights and more, the club knows how to party and make friends.

The club facilities include 3 full sized pitches, a club house with fully licensed bar and plasma TV, 40 spaces car park, 5 changing rooms and shower facilities, a fully furnished gym and access to the local astro grass pitches in the winter months (see photos below).

The club welcomes any player whether you are young or old, male or female, experienced or just starting out in the game. We endeavour to develop your potential and ensure you make friends through our active social scene, while enjoying your rugby at a good level, suitable for your ability. The club has had players from all over the world including Scots, English, Welsh, Irish, Ozzies, Kiwis, Boks and many more which makes the banter at World Cup time a little interesting!

Training is every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm, which continues in the summer months when touch rugby keeps your fitness ticking over.

We look forward to seeing you down at Glensburgh in the near future!
